After a great sleep in Hallowell Mills Cove, we raised the anchor at around 9 and began to make the run the rest of the way to Trenton. Actually, it took a bit more work to get the anchor up this morning as it was really well set (I'm liking this new anchor), but up it came in the end.
We considered both anchoring out near Trenton, or going in to the Fraser Park marina, but in the end we decided to take advantage of the Parks Canada seasonal mooring permit we have and go to stay on one of the Trent-Severn locks.

Entrance to the Trent-Severn |
We called a friend of ours who is on the Parks Canada staff on the Trent-Severn and asked him which of the first 6 locks (Dar's sister lives just north of lock 6) we should spend the night at. He suggested the top of lock 2, so that was where we went.

Lock 2 sign |
It's a great spot, private and quiet (you can hear the 401 traffic, but it's not too bothersome), but it sure is isolated. It didn't help that the staff, upon leaving after locking us through, locked the main gate to the site. Dar's sister was coming to pick us up to go out to dinner, but couldn't get past the locked gate. We ended up having to walk a couple kilometres out to the gate.

Not the yellow brick road, but almost as long... |

Lock 2, all to ourselves |
Tomorrow we'll press on through lock 6 and then see what we can do to find enough room to anchor out of the channel and in front of Dar's sister's house.
