A Day Off at Upper Brewers (2013-07-19)

We had a nice day here today.  We puttered about on the boat and read and just generally relaxed.

It was a good choice to stay put today.  The wind was up starting around mid morning.  There were still many boats locking through, and many of them had problems with the wind, but still, on they went.  Must be one of those "schedule" things... :-)

There were numerous weather warnings for all through Eastern Ontario today.  Everything from high wind warnings, thunderstorm warnings, and even tornado watches.  Luckily things were pretty benign here weather wise.  We had a lot of wind throughout the day, and the first wave of the cold front roared through here like a freight train, taking down a lot of branches with it.

A full house on the dock, and a lot of doubled up lines
Here comes the cold front

It was worth it though.  After the front went through the temperature dropped 10 degrees.  It's now much more comfortable, and should make travelling tomorrow a lot more pleasant.

We decided to slide our family get together in Trenton back a week to next weekend.  With the weather delay it was pretty much impossible to make it there before Sunday, so this will allow us to get there at a much more relaxed pace, as well as providing us an opportunity to anchor out for a few nights.
