Happy New Year from the Bahamas (2014-01-01)

Happy New Year Mr and Mrs blog reader, and to all ships at sea.  I hope everyone had fun in whatever way that you prefer to ring in the new year.

Our daughter and son in law arrived Monday night for their visit.  It is safe to say that Dar was a little happy to see them.

We decided to spend New Years Eve in Lucaya, at the market square.  They put on a live band, and the abundance of cheap drinks all around the square made for a pretty good party.

At midnight, after everyone rang in the new year, they put on a pretty nice fireworks display to cap the party off with style, and to welcome 2014 with a bang.

Tonight we're going back to the Lucaya marketplace to watch the Junkanoo competition.  We are told there are going to be six different teams competing for points, and that it should be a great show.
