Well, Dar and I have returned to Ottawa, as planned, for our daughter's wedding this Sunday. The boat is safely tucked in at the Waterford Visitor Center dock.
We lucked out and the fine people at the Waterford town dock agreed to allow us to leave our boat there for the week that we are back in Ottawa. Of course, it's pretty much the end of the season there, and with the Erie Canal once again closed for at least the next two to three weeks, there will probably be very little traffic through this area. But still, it was very nice of them to help us out, and we'll be sure to remember them appropriately in their donation jar upon our return.

Once we had secured a location to leave the boat the next step was to get a rental car. We ended up with this nice little Toyota Camry from Enterprise. We found it amusing that it had Florida plates on it, considering that will be our final US destination before hopping over to the Bahamas for the winter.

We headed out of Waterford around noon, and took the I-90/I-81 route back up. It was interesting as we travelled on I-90 in that it parallels a good portion of the Erie Canal. We recognized quite a few places as we drove, and found it kind of neat seeing the canal from a second perspective. The water level on either side of lock E-13 is quite low now that they are closed and once again hard at work making their repairs.

So, that's about that. Lots to do before the big day this weekend. Many errands to run, and final preparations to be made.
Feel weird being back on land? Best of luck with the wedding and enjoy your time at home. You got great weather ahead!
