A pretty good turnout, and lots of good eats.
Kudos to Brenda from M/V Trading Places for being the prime instigator, er I mean organizer. :-) It was however, a dual purpose evening, as the conspirators (Brenda and Richard of M/V Trading Places, and Nick and Wendy of M/V Corvette Conversion IV) surprised us with a "Bon-Voyage" ceremony with a speech read by Nick, and some gifts.

The speech by Nick and Wendy |
They gave us Great Loop t-shirts that many of the other boaters signed with messages of envy and well wishes. Then Richard pulled out his conch horn (yeah, I know that sounds dirty, but it wasn't - it really was a conch shell cut to be a horn) and presented it to us to take on our travels with the stipulation that it get blown every evening at sunset. Of course, first I'll have to learn to blow the darn thing (I never did play any kind of brass instruments as a kid). Richard demonstrated, making it look easy, but my attempts pretty much sounded like an asthmatic moose clearing the phleghm out of his throat; I definitely have some work to do...
